Konecranes Predictive Services now also available for Konecranes RTGs and RMGs

- Customers now benefit from greater insight into their Konecranes equipment, allowing them to proactively plan maintenance and reduce unplanned downtime
- Extension of proven predictive technology to yard cranes supports broader proactive maintenance strategies for Konecranes fleets
Konecranes is extending its Predictive Services offering to cover Konecranes Rubber-Tired Gantry Cranes (RTGs) and Konecranes Rail-Mounted Gantry Cranes (RMGs) globally. The move, which significantly strengthens Konecranes’ Port Services portfolio, builds on the established Predictive Services platform previously introduced for Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Cranes (MHCs).
Extending predictive technology to RTG and RMG cranes allows terminal operators to apply data-driven insights across a broader share of their Konecranes equipment fleets. Predictive approaches can reduce maintenance costs while lowering spare-parts inventory requirements compared to reactive maintenance approaches.
Konecranes Predictive Services use vibration sensors installed on critical rotating components, including hoist and trolley motors, gearboxes and bearings. These components are among the most critical to yard crane availability, with faults potentially causing extended downtime if not detected early enough.
Operating data is transmitted to Konecranes for analysis and findings are delivered to customers through the yourKONECRANES portal. Exception reporting enables maintenance teams to focus on targeted interventions, helping to reduce downtime and improve spare parts planning.
“The expansion of our Predictive Services to Konecranes RTGs and RMGs is part of a broader strategy to strengthen our digital and lifecycle services for customers worldwide. By combining technology, data analysis and equipment expertise, we enable terminal operators to act earlier and get even better performance from their Konecranes equipment,” says Nico Zamzow, Senior Vice President, Port Services, Konecranes.
A strong focus on customers and commitment to business growth and continuous improvement make Konecranes a material handling industry leader.
