Konecranes expands Ecolifting portfolio with new electric reach stacker to satisfy future port industry electrification needs
Konecranes launched its first electric reach stacker at the TOC Asia exhibition in Singapore today, bolstering its portfolio of low- to zero-tailpipe-emission port equipment to meet increasing demand from port customers. The company also announced full global access for its Remote Services so customers can improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime without the need for on-site personnel.
As countries and businesses continue to focus on reducing their carbon emissions, Konecranes continues to earn its position as the recognized industry leader in this space. At TOC Asia Konecranes debuted its electric reach stacker, which from start will be available for the APAC, Middle East and Africa, and South American markets. A high-performance electric drive train using high-energy Li-Ion batteries with a working time of up to 16 hours enables the lifting and transporting of cargo containers without compromising on productivity.
Andreas Falk, SVP Lift Trucks at Konecranes, says: "We are committed to innovating and producing the best lift trucks and solutions for our customers across the world. I'm pleased to say that with the new electric reach stacker we have a portfolio of fully electrified lift trucks that can help our customers improve their operations, whether they're in ports or steel mills, or if they're working one shift or 24/7 operations."
Konecranes also has extended Remote Services to cover the APAC region, meaning this comprehensive service is now globally available for customers. Immediate troubleshooting starts with first contact, followed by expert guidance for on-site diagnostics. Terminal operators in Southeast Asia and in Europe have relied on Remote Services to enhance their operational efficiency.
Nico Zamzow, SVP Port Services at Konecranes, says: "Bringing Remote Services to the APAC region marks a strategic step in delivering real-time, expert support to our global customers. As ports work to reduce emissions and maximize uptime, digitalization becomes essential. This expansion reinforces our commitment to scalable, data-driven solutions that help terminals operate more efficiently and sustainably."
Throughout 2025, Konecranes has introduced transformative technologies aimed at helping ports remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry. It recently unveiled its Konecranes Noell Hydrogen Fuel Cell Straddle Carrier alongside the Konecranes E-Hybrid RTG and electric empty container handler. These innovations are designed to tackle today's challenges and set the standards for tomorrow by providing a comprehensive portfolio of products with low- to zero-tailpipe emissions.
These product launches are part of Ecolifting™, Konecranes' vision to increase its handprint - meaning the beneficial environmental impact that can be achieved with our product and service portfolio - while reducing customers' carbon footprints. From eco-optimizing diesel drives, to hybridization and fully-electrified fleets, we will continue to do more with less.
A strong focus on customers and commitment to business growth and continuous improvement make Konecranes a material handling industry leader. This is underpinned by investments in digitalization and technology, plus our work to make material flows more efficient with solutions that support the decarbonization of the economy and advance circularity and safety.
