Konecranes has received an order from Valmet Paper Technology (China) Co., Ltd. to supply a comprehensive range of cranes for their facility relocation in Wuxi. The contract was booked in May 2025, with delivery scheduled for November 2025.

Valmet Paper Technology is a global supplier to the paper industry, providing technologies and services that optimize production processes. The relocation project in Wuxi will expand workshop capacity and introduce advanced equipment to improve productivity and product quality.

The order includes two 126-ton double girder cranes and two 80-ton double girder cranes, along with a range of gantry, jib and workstation cranes. Equipped with inverter control, Extended Speed Range (ESR), synchronized lifting and advanced safety systems such as collision protection, the cranes are designed to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

The heavy-duty cranes will transport large equipment weighing between 40-126 tons, while the smaller gantry, jib and workstation cranes will handle light assembly operations. This combination of high-capacity and precision lifting equipment is designed to streamline material flow and provide operational flexibility across the new workshop.

David Ma, Sales Director, CTO, Industrial Equipment at Konecranes China, said: "This project required lifting solutions that can handle high loads with precise movement, while also meeting demanding safety requirements. By combining heavy-duty double girder cranes with a range of smaller, more flexible lifting systems, we are providing Valmet with a solution tailored to their production processes in Wuxi.”

Xinwei Fang, Project Manager at Valmet Paper Technology (China) Co., Ltd., said: “Konecranes demonstrated strong technical expertise and reliable process management during the planning phase, which has been essential for the successful start of this project. As Finnish companies, Konecranes and Valmet share values of innovation and collaboration, which have supported effective planning and execution.”

A strong focus on customers and commitment to business growth and continuous improvement make Konecranes a material handling industry leader. This is underpinned by investments in digitalization and technology, plus our work to make material flows more efficient with solutions that decarbonize the economy and advance circularity and safety.
