Konecranes has received an order from Sunnhordland Kraftlag AS (SKL) to deliver a 355-ton maintenance crane to the Blåfalli Fjellhaugen hydropower plant in Norway. The order, booked in July 2025, includes the complete crane delivery as well as installation of the crane rail, power supply and commissioning by Konecranes. Delivery is scheduled for early 2026, with the crane arriving on-site in March.

The crane will be essential for maintenance at the Fjellhaugen power station, lifting and assembling heavy components such as the 355-ton rotor. It will initially be installed with a 100-ton capacity for use during the plant’s construction phase, before being upgraded to its full 355-ton capacity for long-term maintenance operations.

The crane features an SM trolley, built to handle the stress of heavy lifting, with in-house gears, motors, and controls working together for smooth operation. It is equipped with a Ramshorn hook for safe and reliable handling of large and critical components.

"The tailored maintenance crane order for Sunnhordland Kraftlag AS demonstrates our capability to deliver precise solutions under demanding conditions,” says Jens Björk, Process Crane Sales Manager, Konecranes.

“After careful consideration we chose to partner with Konecranes to deliver the overhead crane. Konecranes is experienced and gave a professional and trustworthy impression in the initial phase of our dialogue. Quality is an absolute criterion for us and we are certain that partnering with Konecranes will secure a good delivery in the Blåfalli Fjellhaugen power plant project,” says Kjetil Heimvik, Project Manager from Sunnhordland Kraftlag.
